8th Grade Egg Drop

8th grade students proudly display their egg-drop designs after completing a hands-on engineering challenge exploring gravity, contact forces, Newton’s Laws of Motion and energy transfer. With support from the school’s custodial team—who bravely dropped each prototype from the roof—students tested how well their creations could protect a raw egg on impact. The project combined STEM creativity with real-world problem-solving as students analyzed why some designs cracked under pressure while others survived the fall.
